Austin
Love it!!
My dad purchased ID tags for my kids (Sienna is 3 and Jon-Jon is 1 1/2). These personalized tags are so cute and so smart. Everyone has been asking me where I got them.
They clip onto a belt loop, zipper, shoelaces or backpack and include parents' names and phone numbers. If you are ever separated from your child, they help with the reunification process.

I love these so much that we are going to try a couple more safety products from this website.

Something in the water?
The mommies of these beautiful babies, Camille, Addison and Milli, work together in a Scottsdale office. There must be something in the water! What are the odds -all within a couple of weeks, and all girls. We had a fabulous morning hanging out on on the couch. Need I say more?

SPA
I know- the title got you thinking about a luxurious resort, massages, mani/pedis and more . . . Sorry to get your hopes up!
I am thrilled to be a member of the Senior Portrait Artists (hence SPA). www.spartists.com At the end of January, I attended their conference at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in sunny Tucson. The goal of the conference (and the organization, in general) is to "equip and inspire senior portrait photographers."
Some of the highlights of the weekend included:
- the 4th annual Lights.Camera.Fashion.™ Show by Sara Lebovitz showcasing the best new styles for Spring and Fall 2008
- the Image Competition (I had an entry in consideration!!)
- a fashion photoshoot with SPA models
- plus, loads of great and inspiring classes
Check out some of the images that I got from the photoshoot-

Precious Polkadots
OMG!! I am so excited to show this off- I just created this birth announcement and I love it so much!

The inside of the card features three panels:

I love doing birth announcements because it is a chance for me to create something that shares such good news with their friends and family.
This card is a 5 inch square trifold.
Here is the front panel that you see first.

Then, it opens to this panel:

Finally, here is the back of the card with his precious feet. (Gosh, I love baby toes!)

Choosing a wedding photographer
I was just interviewed by Arizona Weddings Magazine for an upcoming issue! I've been asked this question a lot so I thought it was worth sharing my advice here.
"What advice do you have for couples booking a wedding photographer?"
A great rapport between a couple and their photographer is very important!
To make sure that you select a photographer that has a style that compliments your taste, ask to look at a whole wedding, from the shots of the bride and groom getting ready to the candid reception photos. Just looking at the photographer’s selected “top ten” does not allow you to see what your end product will be.
Make sure that there is a mix of photos including contemporary, traditional, candid and innovative photos. This will ensure that your special day is captured in its entirety.
Most importantly -make sure the photographer demonstrates the ability to capture the emotion and essence of your wedding day events as they unfold.
Your mother looking at you in only the way a mother can . . .
Grandpa crying as he gives a toast
The mischievous ring-bearer trying to kiss the flower girl . . .
The groom's face as he sees his beautiful bride for the first time . . .
These are moments that not everyone gets to see. To be able to look back at your photos and see that someone caught them on film is the greatest gift of all and worth every penny of your investment!

Welcome!

Welcome to the newest facet of MHF Photography! We are busy photographers in Scottsdale, Arizona and, if you haven't already, please check out our website to learn more about us.
I am so excited to launch this blog as a means of sharing my work, thoughts and ideas. I already feel like my clients are my friends. I get to be a part of their intimate moments, like their wedding or photographing their newborn babies, and I hope that this will give you a chance to know me better and share some of my "moments" too. We believe that our photography conveys connections, emotions and relationships and I hope that you will find those same things here as well.
Thanks for visiting. Talk to you soon!
